There is nothing enlightened about lying to yourself. One of the most common lies that people tell themselves is that they weren’t born for this or that, and to make matters worse, we believe that skills are gifts, meaning that you cannot have printed on your personality if they are not printed on you. These lies can stop you from achieving and moving far beyond in life.
Today I want you to focus on unravelling the lies you have been telling yourself for, whatever, many years. So let’s first start by understanding the meaning of the word ‘skill’. According to the Cambridge dictionary, it means an ability to do an activity or job well, mainly because you have practised it. The second part of its definition is nothing but inspiring. It means that you don’t have to be born with supernatural power to develop a particular skill, but you have to practice it. So yes, the truth can set you free!
In this process of being free of lies, we also need to figure out where we fit best. You don’t need to be the best at everything if you want to though I am sure you can, as far as you are doing that for yourself and not simply to feed your ego. For instance, I know how to cook, but I don’t consider myself good at it. However, I have plenty of friends who are master chef levels, but I don’t need to feel bad just because I don’t cook as well as they do. We are all different, and that’s our power.
We are all meant to shine! You might shine with a beautiful accent, while others will shine with such grammar knowledge. There’s absolutely no reason to feel like you are less. We can all learn if we commit to. This mindful journey focuses on learning more than we did yesterday instead of feeling bad because your friend has been learning differently.
This week, take time to clear your mind from all lies you have believed so far. When thoughts like ‘who am I to be brilliant? Or who am I to learn this or that?’ appear, remember that: who are you not to be. Come back here t this page and read this sentence until they become true to you: You’re talented, brilliant, gorgeous, fabulous, and nobody can’t ever say otherwise.
